Podchat does not require an account. We do not collect your name, email address, or account information.

1. What we collect

When you use Podchat's AI voice mode, Podchat collects:

2. How it is collected

Audio, conversation recordings, and episode context leave your device only when you start a voice session — by tapping the microphone button, saying “Hey Pod,” or pressing your AirPods stem — and only after you have granted consent through the in-app prompt. When the session ends, that collection stops.

So that voice mode can start instantly, Podchat keeps the microphone open while the app is running rather than switching it on each time. Nothing from it is recorded or sent while you are not in a session. If you turn on Voice commands, that audio is checked on your device by a bundled speech model listening for “Hey Pod,” “play” and “pause”; the audio it checks is not stored and does not leave your device. You can turn Voice commands off in Settings, and you can revoke microphone access at any time in iOS Settings.

3. How it is used

Your voice, conversation recordings, and episode context are used to answer your questions about the episode you are listening to and to improve Podchat, including product quality and reliability. The data is processed by third-party AI services on our behalf and is not used for advertising or to train third-party models.

4. Third parties we share data with

5. Retention

Podchat may retain conversation recordings and related episode context to improve the product. If you would like a recording removed, contact support@podchat.dev.

6. Your choices

You may withdraw consent at any time in Settings → Privacy → AI Voice Features. Withdrawing consent prevents future voice sessions from starting. You can also revoke microphone access in iOS Settings.

7. Children

Podchat is not directed to children under 13.
